Love Turned Acid: Youth Battles for Life After Vicious Acid Assault

In Bihar‘s Vaishali district, a young man’s encounter with a girl took a horrifying turn as he fell victim to an acid attack by another man accompanying her, as per the police report on Tuesday.

Dharmendra Kumar, a professional driver, suffered severe burn injuries on his face and other body parts during the incident and is currently fighting for his life in a private hospital.

The unfortunate incident occurred on Monday night, shortly after Kumar had returned from a wedding function and handed over the car to its owner. While on his way home in Simarwada village, he received a call from the girl, prompting him to meet her at a deserted location, as per the victim’s statement to the police.

Upon reaching the spot, Kumar found a man standing behind the girl. Without warning, the man threw acid on him and quickly fled the scene with the girl. The victim raised an alarm, and locals came to his rescue, subsequently informing his parents about the attack.

Initially admitted to a private hospital, Kumar has now been referred to Sadar hospital in Hajipur due to the critical nature of his condition. The police have registered an FIR against the two individuals involved, and the investigation is underway, according to an officer from the Patepur police station.
